Casi santo, casi... - Almost a saint

Kieran era una bolita de pelos cuando llegó a casa, un amor, super mimoso, extrovertido (algo difícil en la raza) y vino con el manual abajo del brazo. Nunca lloró de noche y todo lo que le enseñamos lo aprendía y aprende de una.

Kieran was a little fuzzy ball when he arrived home, lovely, very cuddly, easy going (sometimes a difficult thing for this breed) and came home behaving like a little lord. Never cry at nights, and all the things that we tought  he just learnt them in a sec.


En toda su etapa de cachorro hizo una sola travesura, cavar en las macetas del jardín, una sola vez. Cuando  lo quiso volver a intetnar yo había puesto salsa tabasco alrededor de las plantas, estornudó una tarde entera y captó el mensaje, ja! Y en cuanto a defectos, también uno...o dos, pero eso va en otra entrada.

Hubo otra travesura, siendo Kiru un poco más grande, unos 6 u 8 meses.

He made only two pranks as a puppy. One was diging into the plant pots. When he tried the trick a second shot, there was tabasco sauce I put there. He sat miserably sniffing all the afternoon and learn the lesson! He also had one or two deffects, but I´m going to tell about that in another entry. The biggest prank was when he had around six months.

Uno de mis hobbys es armar rompecabezas, me encantan. Es un relax total para mi. Una actividad que comparto con mis hijos. Da una satisfacción enorme, entre toda la familia solucionar el puzzle.

One of my hobbies is solving puzzles, I just love it. It means total relax for me. I enjoyed solving them with my kids.


Asi que compactados como estabamos en el departamento, esperando que se terminara la obra de nuestra casa, decidí que iba a "sacrificar" momentaneamente la mesa de comedor para poder armar uno

Living very tight in our appartment, waiting for our house to be finished I decided to use our dinner table for solving one

Entre todos elegimos uno de delfines, con silueta de delfín, muy original en su diseño y divertido para armar con los chicos, ya que algunas de las piezas tenian forma de pescaditos. Si bien era grande, creo que unas 1500 piezas no era muy difícil aunque obviamente llevaba su tiempo, es algo que se logra terminar después de unos días. Pero por esta peculiaridad de su forma era complicado para ubicar.

We choose one sea motiv, with a dolphin silhouette, very funny and suitable for the children. Some of the pieces had a fishy shape. It was big, around 1500 pieces, but not very difficult, anyway it took some time to finish. Because of the puzzle shape, it was akward to place it over the table.

Cuando ya lo teníamos casi terminado, faltarían unas 10 fichas, Kieran pegó un salto y agarró la pieza de la punta de la cola, me acuerdo que todo pasaba como en cámara lenta, yo me paré y le grité para que se quedara quieto, y con toda la malicia del mundo (inédito en el) empezó a tirar hacia abajo. Yo veía como todo el rompecabezas se iba patinando de la mesa y no tenía manera de pararlo. El puzzle iba enterito de la mesa al aire, y del aire al piso...PLAF! Se desarmó todo obvio, pero lo peor es que mientras yo juntaba fichas en cuatro patas abajo de la mesa, Kieran se comió 4 fichas!!!!!! Yo lo miraba sin poder creerlo, porque de verdad, en toda su etapa de cachorro nunca destrozó nada, lo pienso y todavía no entiendo que se le cruzó por la cabeza en ese momento. Quiza de curiosidad, o de celos, o vaya uno a saber...

When we had 10 pieces left for finishing it, Kieran jumped and get with his mouth the last piece from the tail. I  remembered looking a film in slow motion. I stand up and shouted him to stop. But in a naughty way he continued to pull down the puzzle. I just stayed there watching how our dolphin was sliding from the table to the air, and directly to the floor...PLAF! All the pieces broke up, and while I was under the table looking for all the pieces, Kieran ate four of them!!! I just looked at him in desbelieve, because he never ever broke something. When I still think about this I cant understand what he was thinking, maybe he was just curious or jealous, I really don´t know...


Cuestión, volvimos a empezar de 0 y nos quedó incompleto. Como la idea era enmarcarlo para el cuarto de Jaci, fue un drama. Pero, miremos el vaso medio lleno y no medio vacio. Me contacté a través de un mail con la marca (alemana, la mejor) y les conté lo sucedido, para ver si había alguna posibilidad de conseguir las fichas faltantes, esto es algo que se maneja entre las fábricas buenas de puzzles. No solo me dieron las fichitas, sino el puzzle entero de nuevo!!! Y a buscarlas entre 1500!! Peor mandaron también 3 puzzles más de obsequio por el cuento, parece que Kieran les cayó simpático.

So, we start over and left it incompleted. As I wanted to put it in a frame and hang it at Jacinta´s room, it was a soapopera drama. So I get in touch by an email with the brand (the best one in puzzles around the world in German), telling them what happened and asking if was any possibility of getting those misssing pieces. And they not only sent me a whole new dolphin puzzle, they even shipped three more puzzles as a gift! Seems that they like Kieran!
